SUPRIYA JINDAL VISITS BCP

Belle Chasse Primary Kindergarten teachers and students were visited by the First Lady of Lousiana, Supriya Jindal, on Thursday, October 24th. After speaking with teachers and principals around the state to better understand the needs of classrooms in Louisiana, The Supriya Jindal Foundation decided to invest in hands-on tools for classrooms. The "School Surprise" program seeks to aid in the education of kindergarten students by providing hands-on, interactive educational supplies selected by their teachers. Each of the ten Kindergarten teachers at Belle Chasse Primary created a "wish list" of resources and supplies that would help provide engaging learning opportunities for their students. After a few weeks of anticipation, Belle Chasse Primary found out that the Foundation, with charter member partner AT&T, had decided to award ALL ten kindergarten classrooms at BCP their wish lists! Mrs. Jindal enjoyed her visit with students at Belle Chasse Primary. She read a story to the students in Mrs. Hughes's class and spent time with the students as they worked with their new supplies. In additon, each student received a Lousiana coloring book and a pencil from the governor.
